About Mark Boden

My name is Mark and I am the property services manager for Lench’s Trust, I have worked with the Trust for over a decade now from my beginnings as an “on the tools” operative to the position I hold today.

My background is in construction, in first civil engineering working on the rail system and communications infrastructure and then moving into social housing to deliver the pathfinder project in Birmingham and surrounding areas.

Pathfinder was a huge undertaking to bring housing in some of Britain’s most deprived areas up to “decent homes standards” which is a set of technical standards for public housing which aimed to provide a minimum standard of housing conditions for all those housing in the public sector i.e. council housing and housing associations.

I came to the Trust with the completion of William Lench Court in 2011, I was employed as a site manager for Balfour Beatty and as part of delivering William Lench Court I was responsible for managing the six-month defects period (among other things).

During those six months working closely with the Trust, I realised I wanted more than simply working for a large corporate entity and wanted to do something more meaningful where I felt I could make a difference to people’s lives and by working for Lench’s Trust provided me with that opportunity.

I am excited to see the direction the Trust will take as it moves past its five hundred year anniversary and into a new phase of growth and expansion and extending our influence into the wider community.
